语言是一门技能，练习是关键。针对希望提高英语口语能力的白领来说，我们会使用一些特别的授课形式，来帮助他们更快地掌握更多的专业词汇、语法知识。例如，教学生如何介绍自己的公司。首先，我们会挑选一家公司来做相关的分析。比如，我们为学生提供一篇关于德国大众公司的文章，从公司的介绍、内部人力架构、到营运模式等每一家公司都会涉及的方方面面。经过老师的指导，我们帮助学生掌握语法等知识点，让学生了解到公司每一部门的职能结构以及相对应的英语知识。在短期内，这样的培训方式效果很好。可是，间隔一段时间后，老师和学生发现，学生已经将用英语获得的信息转换成中文的形式存储了下来，可是对于英语的表达方式却没有真正掌握。因此，学生应该通过拓展课程来改变这一状况，真正提高自己的语言技能。学生可以练习自己公司的实际情况，将相对应的资料填充进原来“德国大众”案例的文章中去。这样，当你在与公司客户交谈，参加目标公司面试时，都可以向对方介绍自己对行业的认识，对该公司的熟悉，侃侃而谈。所以，我说，学语言就像是做饭。首先，你要积累一定的原材料，接触到面试及日后工作中相关的信息内容；其次，还要多加练习。从未煮过鱼、牛肉，就很难作出判断，究竟该如何煮，放多少调味料。从未开口练习过，就不会知道自己的问题和错误在哪里。“练习”和“原材料的积累”这两个环节是环环相扣的。

我们在招聘人员的时候，如果是针对高级别的管理层（一般是外国人），可以不要求他会讲中文，这也就反过来说明，在招聘较为初级的员工时，我们就会更加注重其英语水平，尤其是口语表达能力。有很多应聘者虽然在其简历上反映出获得了一些比较权威的英语证书，但是真正让他开流，却显得钝拙不已，仿佛真的就是“哑巴英语”。其实，如果本身口语表达能力不佳，即使短期内集训突击，也是没有用的。面试时候的情景十分灵活，依靠你自己背好的一段段台词根本无法真正驾驭，而且时常可能弄巧成拙贻笑大方。比如，有一次我问一个应试者曾经经历过的实习或者社会经验有哪些，结果他给了我一大段自我介绍，一听就知道是事先准备好的；还有一次，在征聘一个时尚类项目职位时，我问一位应试者上海最热闹的pub在哪里，可是他根本就没听懂，回答了大段其它的东西。一般HR在一面的时候可能还会问一些常规的问题，诸如兴趣爱好、自己的优点等等，但是到了后来的二面、三面，就可能会根据你所应聘的职位提出发散性的问题，这个时候考验的是真才实学和应变能力，不是经过几个星期突击一下口语和听力就能顺利过关的。我的建议是，把握身边的每一个机会，为自己争取练习口语的机会。如果你的同事中恰好有外国人士，不妨经常找他们交流，不但联络同事感情也积累口语实战经验，不要怕难为情，也不要怕犯错误，积极主动一点，逮着机会练口语，机会就会带来收获。

临阵磨枪要磨什么枪？
新世界进修中心杨老师说，要想在短期内提高英语口语，确实不是件容易的事情。通常，他们会建议学生先制定一个合理的计划，逐渐把感觉找回来。第一，在短期内，重要的是要把熟悉的已知词汇掌握好。有的白领觉得自己的英语不够好，对于自己掌握的词汇量还不满足，冲进书店就把词汇书买回家猛背单词。其实，这样的方法很不可取。中国学生大学毕业后已经积累了一定量的单词，但是大部分学生却总是满脑子单词，真到开口说的时候，就一句句子都说不完整。
有数据统计，老外每天日常使用的词汇量约在8001000个之间。因此，只要我们把握好平时最常用的词汇，日常交流就会得心应手。第二，要学会在句子中掌握词汇。可以尝试着把词汇放在特定的句子中记忆，并且反复练习。第三，背实用短文。俗话说得好，“熟读唐诗三百首，不会作诗也会吟”。背诵是练习英语口语的前提。把一些非常实用、适合自己层次的句型背诵下来，熟练之后就可以加以应用脱口而出。例如，你可以选择一篇关于如何陪同客人吃饭的对话形式的短文，并背诵下来。以后在工作中遇到类似的情况，你就学会了该如何打电话、安排时间、联络客户等等。又例如，给上级作年度评估的报告。你可以事先背诵一篇相关的短文，在实际工作中，只需要把一些数字变通一下即可。第四，在业余时间多听。可以在上下班的路上，在MP3里存上大量的内容，如新闻、原版电影、电视剧、听力教材等等。当你刚摘下耳机的时候，那个状态是最棒的。无论见到谁，你的流利口语就会脱口而出。事实上，大多数的培训机构都开设针对白领的商务英语课程，其中也会涉及到如何应对英语面试的内容。只要愿意花时间，多听、多背、多练，就一定会有所提高。
