At first, you must understand the meaning of climate change.
It means any long-term significant change in the average weather, which may include average temperature, precipitation, wind patterns and so on. For example, Australia is experiencing rapid climate change. Since the middle of the twentieth century, Australian temperatures have risen by about average one temperature degree with an increase in the frequency of heat waves and a decrease in the numbers of frosts and cold days.
Rainfall patterns have also changed, which means that the northwest has seen an increase in rainfall over the last fifty years while much of eastern Australia and the far southwest have experienced a decline. From this example, it indicates climate change that is occurring today has sped up, and affects long-term weather. The Earth’s climate is largely affected by how much heat is stored in the atmosphere. Furthermore, the climate change is caused by dynamic process on Earth, external forces including variations in sunlight intensity, and more recently by human activities.
Dear teachers and students
hello everyone!
Today, the topic of my speech is "happy learning, happy growth"!
We often hear the saying, "it's never too old to learn." Learning is a lifelong thing, especially for our students, our task is to learn. Let's think about it. Without learning, there would be no square Chinese characters that carry the long history of the Chinese nation, and there would be no invention of steam engine, electric lamp and telephone; Without learning, human beings will always live in the primitive society of ignorance and darkness, and also without the shoulders of the giant standing by the great scientist Newton; If there is no learning, there will be no today's advanced technology and our happy life.
Look at our current learning environment, spacious and bright classrooms, beautiful and quiet learning environment, all kinds of learning tools, all kinds of textbooks, dedicated teachers, and parents who carefully take care of our growth. What else are we unhappy about? Chinese and history lessons can let us experience the profound culture of our motherland, mathematics lessons can exercise our thinking, music lessons can fully display our singing voice, physical education lessons can healthy our physique, science lessons can let us know the mysteries of nature, and social classes can enjoy the customs and folk customs of the world - with continuous learning, our knowledge is becoming richer and richer, Our quality is constantly improving, and we are gradually becoming qualified citizens of the society.
Of course, we can only study seriously and carefully. Learning is happy for us. We should not regard learning as an errand and should not perfunctory it. Only those who want to learn will learn real knowledge and truly realize its happiness. Let's review the words of our beloved Premier Zhou: "it's never too old to learn." Students, let's study happily and grow happily. Let's learn seriously from today and experience real happiness in learning.
Thank you!
At the beginning I was belittled by my colleagues. But they were really surprised when I translated seven English articles over 5,000 words on only one day. Gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. In their opinion I turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.
I also realize that only those who bring happiness for others can be truly happy. So I often take part in activities concerning public welfare. I once went to a barren mountain village with my classmates. We taught the kids there who could not afford school. While showing them how broad and how civilized the outer world is, I was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, their honesty and their purity. I couldn't control my tears on the day when we left. The precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us, future teachers.
Besides study and social practice, there are entertainments as well. I do body building every day, hoping to keep healthy and energetic. We also write a play and put it on in our spare time.
Campus life is the most splendid time. But different people have different choices. The majority of students cherish their beautiful season and cherish the hope that one day they'll become outstanding. But there are indeed some students still under ignorance. They gather together for eating, drinking or playing cards. They're busy in searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend. They forget completely about their mission as college students and the hope of their motherland.
Finally, I do hope everybody can try their best to become a worthy citizen of the country. I do hope everybody can become the backbone of our nation and make great contributions to society!
My opinion on copying others' homework
It is konwn to us all that some students copy others' homework, their reasons are as below:first of all,the homework is too much and always difficult;the second, they are not intrested in the lessons;and the third, the aim of finishing their homework is to please the teacher.
In my opinion, copying others' homework is not good, because it's against the rules of the school. We should be honest and work hard to get high scores. If we have difficulties,we can even ask the teacher or our classmates for their help.

Dear teachers and students
hello everyone!
I'm . It's a great honor to stand here and express my personal opinions. The topic of my speech today is "learning methods should be suitable for yourself".
After reading the book "learn to learn and learn to be a man", I learned a lot of learning methods and understood the importance of learning methods through the small stories inside. But with good learning methods, everyone can say a few, and normal people can do it. Why is the achievement gap still so large? I don't want to repeat the truth. I just want to say what I think.
What I feel most is that the learning method should be suitable for myself. I am not a hard-working person, but I have always maintained good grades, thanks to the fact that I have found a suitable learning method. When I was just promoted to junior high school, my parents and teachers taught me that junior high school is not much more than primary school. I have to work harder. I began to devote a lot of time to study, spend a lot of time preparing and reviewing, and do my homework seriously. But I don't know why, I feel very hard. I tried to increase the time and effort, but it was even more difficult. I calmed down and carefully analyzed my situation. I found that it was due to improper methods that I had difficulty in learning. I have been blindly following the so-called "good method", ignoring my actual situation. My advantage is strong acceptance, good memory and fast learning. I spend a lot of time and energy preparing and reviewing those familiar knowledge, and I'm tired of dealing with the homework that doesn't make any sense to me. It's strange that I don't work hard. I immediately adjusted the focus of study, put improving classroom efficiency first, and achieved twice the result with half the effort.
Of course, there are wins and losses, and there are high and low. What we can do is to persevere and go all out. Don't just focus on the results and have a clear conscience.
Finally, I wish teachers good health and students learning progress.
My speech is over!
Thank you!
Dear teachers, dear students,Hello everyone!
Flowers, trees and plants take care of the rain, dew and wind, so they thrive and grow and grow up quickly, contributing more vitality to this environment. The puppies stood by the door every day for the gratitude and waited for the owner to return. There is such a deep feeling in these little things, how emotional it is. And as a person, we should of course be grateful for the things around us, to be grateful, but also to receive the gift of gratitude. And the first thing we have to be grateful for is our parents, so the topic of my speech today is “Thank you for your parenting.” Have you heard your parents say you were a kid? The way I was born was quite special in this era, because I was born in my own home. At that time, my mother did not go to the hospital to give birth, but ushered me into this world in a wooden house in our hometown. When I was about to be born, my grandma called a midwife. In this way, I came to this world from the midwife in my old house. Let us think about it. In modern society, many people are afraid of having children in the hospital, and every time I think of my mother bringing me to this world in an ancient way. My mother took a certain risk and gave birth to my life. At that time, our rural transportation was not very developed, and many things were also very backward. In order to bring me to this world, my mother is protecting my life with her life. Mother is the greatest person in my heart. She is like a warm harbor, always bears the pain for us, and is always worried about our safety. After growing up, my father was busy running for our lives. I have seen my father come back sweaty many times. I also saw him watering the seedlings in the greenhouse under the sun. I have witnessed that hard time. As I grew up, I became more and more aware of the difficulty of my parents. They exchanged their blood and sweat for the happiness we are now. They paid in silence but never thanked us just because we were their children, and they were inclusive of us and loved us. So, students, do you feel a lot of emotion at this moment? For parents, for us now, what can we really give them? Only thanksgiving.

Hello! i wonder whether everybody knows the meaning of these two words of " energy-conservation " and " low carbon "? i assume as a matter of course and know. does " energy-conservation " save the energy? does " low carbon " reduce carbon emission? yes, it is really simple. we often chat about them. but, do you really understand them? have they really taken root on your bottom of heart deeply?
Once, the earth mother left our rich energy to cause us to be jubilant, sighed on earths energy inexhaustible, inexhaustible, now, the newest statistics indicated, the petroleum will dry up after 60 years, the coal also might supply the humanity to use for 250 years; once, developed first, the environment question the situation which neglected is often occurred, now, the sustainable development, was together harmoniously with the nature the biggest topic.not difficult to see, the environment question in is taken unceasingly by the people.for all this, the environment question was still stern, the energy conservation reduced the platoon, the low-carbon lives imminently.at the copenhagen climate congress, this affects the human destiny the question slowly to be unable to reach the agreement actually.in the life, is driving the great displacement automobile, purchases including the fluorine air conditioning, the refrigerator, including the phosphorus laundry powder, turns on the air conditioning the low temperature also one side to bind in the summer the quilt, the daylight lamp is being long all night clearly, water cock water drop sound day and night not rest.these influence environment phenomenon common occurrence.this is rebels with ours position. american president kennedy has said: do not have to ask the country can make any for us, must ask first oneself can make any for the country.the low-carbon life needs everybody to participation!
The low-carbon life first is one kind of life manner.so long as wants, each person may be able to achieve! the electricity saving, saves gas and oil, the solar terms, saving water, the tree-planting, makes use of waste, by step generation of vehicle.the intravenous drip, in life each aspect, all may choose the low-carbon life the manner.the low-carbon life is also representing one kind healthily, the more natural life style.little eats counter-season food, the generation by works as season food; little uses the disposable product, the generation by the duplicated things; little rides an overhead traveling crane, little sits one time the elevator, the generation rides the bicycle, crawls the staircase, while falls the low-carbon withdrawal, we will have a healthier body and mind.
We believed, so long as everybody works as one, participation together, humanitys tomorrow certainly will be able to be happier! schoolmates, today, your low-carbn.
If you're middle-aged and your memory's not what it used to be, check thebathroom scale, researchers warned, suggesting overweight people tend to scoremore poorly on tests of memory than their thinner peers do.
The findings suggest that a heavier weight in middle age may mean a higherrisk of dementia later in life.
Reporting in the journal Neurology, the researchers speculated that higherrates of cardiovascular disease or diabetes might help explain the link. Butit's also possible that substances produced by fat cells, such as the hormoneleptin, have direct effects on the brain.
The study compared mental abilities to body mass index (BMI), a
measurement of weight in relation to height used to define overweight andobesity. A BMI of 25 or more indicates overweight, and 30 or more is obese.
The study also investigated the relationships between BMI and cognitivefunction in 2,223 healthy men and women between the ages of 32 and 62 in Francethrough the use of four cognitive tests.
The study found a higher BMI was associated with lower cognitive test scores. Results from a test involving word memory recall show people with a BMI of 20remembered an average of nine out of 16 words, while people with a BMI of 30remembered an average of seven out of 16 words.
Our school is called “Nan Guan Primary School”. There are a lot of students and teachers in it. It’s famous for its achievement and its beautiful environment.
On the playground, there are all kinds of plants in turns. And if you stand a place, you can see lots of “NOTES” and “SIGNS”. For example, “Be quite, please.” “Don’t litter the rubbish.” And so on. It makes you feel our school sacred(神圣的). In the evening, all the lights are turned on. Everywhere are clear like the days.
I love “Nan Guan Primary School”. Welcome to our school!
Sports are more than competitions. To me, they mean growth under the care of others. I learned this the hard way.
I used to be very shy and often felt lonely. Although I did well in all the academic subjects, I was afraid of physical education. My classmates often laughed at me.
“Look at that girl,” they said. “Her feet don’t leave the ground when she runs!”
Their words embarrassed me. Moreover, whenever the teacher organized some competitive games, no one in the class liked to have me as their partner or team member. As a result, I often ended up looking at others enjoy their games.
Things would go on like that if not for a sports meet in my high school. By mistake, my name was put on the list of those who would compete in the women’s 1500 meters race. By the time people found the mistake, it was too late to change.
My desk-mate was a natural athlete. She said to me, “I couldn’t run that race in your place, because I’ve signed up for three items already.” Other athletic girls of the class said the same.
I was utterly dumbfounded. 1500 meters! Running against the best runners from other classes! And in front of students of the entire school! It would be the worst nightmare I’d ever have!
“You still have time to catch up because there is still one month before the sports meet,” they all said this to me, including my teacher.
My desk-mate patted me on the shoulder, “Cool! You will run for our class! And we will do training together.” Yes, this is not just for myself, but for my class too, I said to myself. But still, 1500 meters to me was like Mount Everest to a beginning climber. I had no idea even how to start my preparation.
Fortunately, my desk-mate gave me a hand. Every afternoon after class, several of us ran together. When the fear of being laughed at struck me, I saw others running right beside me. They gave me strengths. While we were running, some others would stand by the tracks cheering for us.
One month certainly couldn’t make me a good runner. But when I was standing behind the start line, I no longer felt lonely or afraid. I saw my classmates standing by the tracks waving at me as if about to run beside me.
With the shot of the starting gun, I dashed out and ran as fast as I could, as if it were a 200-meter race. Soon I was out of breath and slowed down. Other runners passed me one by one, and gradually I had no idea how many of them were still behind me. My legs were getting heavier and heavier, and I might fall down at any moment. However, I suddenly heard my classmates chanting my name. My desk-mate even ran along the tracks beside me and cheered for me at the same time, just like the month-long training we did together.
As expected, I was almost the last to cross the finish line. Immediately, my classmates held my arms and urged me to walk on my feet and not to sit down. I was surrounded, with all kinds of drinks handed to me. I felt a kind of warmth I had never felt before. Even though I was almost the last to finish the race, I was full of confidence that I would improve in the future.
That sports meet was an unforgettable experience. The memory of my classmates cheering for me, holding my arms and handing me drinks stays fresh on my mind. Sports are no longer about winning or losing. They give me a lot of confidence, both confidence in my fellow students and confidence in my own potential. I am no longer lonely, no longer afraid. Sports have brought me close to my classmates and helped us grow together.
Now, I participate in the sports meet every year. Even if I am not competing, I would help my classmates with their practice, just like the way my desk-mate and others ran with me.
Good morning, everyone! Today I'm going to talk about inventions.
Inventions are created every day because people would like to make lifeeasier. There are famous inventions like the TV and the bicycle.TV provides uswith different kinds of information so that we can know more about the world.Wewatch entertainment programs to relax ourselves.Besides some learning programshelp us with our study.
The bicycle is very useful, too. We go to school or work by bike. It's notexpensive that most of us can afford it.It makes no pollution, which is good forour environment. What's more ,bicycle riding is a kind of exciting sports whichis quite good for our health.
Though there have been many great inventions, I wish to invent a kind ofpen which can help us write more quickly and neatly. When we meet problems indoing our homework or taking exams,it will tell us how to solve them.
That's all .Thank you very much.
HOW ARE TV PICTURES MADE?
A TV picture starts with a TV camera. Some TV cameras are big and some are small. The cameras in TV studios are big. Camera operators roll the big cameras around on wheels. There are usually several big cameras in a TV studio. Cameras used outside a TV studio are smaller. TV camera crews take the smaller cameras to news and sports events.
Some cameras send out live pictures to your TV set. Some cameras make videotapes that get played later on a television program.
All TV cameras need electricity to work. A camera operator points the camera at a scene. The camera picks up light from the scene. It changes this light into an electric signal called the video signal. A microphone changes the sound of people talking or music playing into an electric signal called the audio signal.
in our daily lives, we have many choices to make, such as what to eat for supper, what clothes to wear, or what to do on weekends. at certain times in our lives, we need to make even more critical choices, such as which school to attend, what job to take or who to choose as husband or wife. yes, life is a matter of choice. seemimgly, it means a choice of tangible things. but in essence, it means choosing a way of life. life is to be lived, savored, and enjoyed, not to be wasted or complained about.
hardly can we forget the time when our society faced the grave threat from the life-and-death disease--sars. yet, even during those dreadful times, some afflicted people remained optimistic. instead of wearing neutral white masks, some people turned to colouful ones, and thus display a happy mood. and some creative people dubbed sars to mean "smile and remain smiling." i was deeply touched by their optimisim, nearly forgetting that we're still in a battle. people who survive these kinds of circumstances, (at some point)decide in their minds to carry on in spite of the overwhelming odds.
laid-off workers, typically regarded as the victims of economic advancement, are subject to desperation that being unmeployed has brought on them. but, encouragingly, we have witnessed some of them striving hard to rebuild confidence toward life and discover new opportunities for demonstrating their values.
although we cannot choose our appearance, inborn gifts and even avoid unexpected disasters and adversities, we do have the privilege to choose to live optimistcally,to love our lives, to have dreams, and to cherish hopes.
every morning when we get up, we have a choice of how we want to approach life that day. as for me, i choose to be cheerful.
Have you ever held a question in mind for so long that it becomes part of how you think? Maybe even part of who you are as a person? Well I’ve had a question in my mind for many, many years and that is: how can you speed up learning? Now, this is an interesting question because if you speed up learning you can spend less time at school. And if you learn really fast, you probably wouldn’t have to go to school at all.
Now, when I was young, school was sort of okay but I found quite often that school got in the way of learning so I had this question in mind: how do you learn faster? And this began when I was very, very young, when I was about eleven years old I wrote a letter to researchers in the Soviet Union, asking about hypnopaedia, this is sleep learning, where you get a tape recorder, you put it beside your bed and it turns on in the middle of the night when you’re sleeping, and you’re supposed to be learning from this.
A good idea, unfortunately it doesn’t work. But, hypnopaedia did open the doors to research in other areas and we’ve had incredible discoveries about learning that began with that first question. I went on from there to become passionate about psychology and I have been involved in psychology in many ways for the rest of my life up until this point. In 1981 I took myself to China and I decided that I was going to be native level in Chinese inside two years.
Now, you need to understand that in 1981, everybody thought Chinese was really, really difficult and that a westerner could study for ten years or more and never really get very good at it. And I also went in with a different idea which was: taking all of the conclusions from psychological research up to that point and applying them to the learning process. What was really cool was that in six months I was fluent in Mandarin Chinese and took a little bit longer to get up to native. But I looked around and I saw all of these people from different countries struggling terribly with Chinese, I saw Chinese people struggling terribly to learn English and other languages, and so my question got refined down to: how can you help a normal adult learn a new language quickly, easily and effectively?
Now this a really, really important question in today’s world. We have massive challenges with environment we have massive challenges with social dislocation, with wars, all sorts of things going on and if we can’t communicate we’re really going to have difficulty solving these problems. So we need to be able to speak each other’s languages, this is really, really important.
The question then is how do you do that. Well, it’s actually really easy. You look around for people who can already do it, you look for situations where it’s already working and then you identify the principles and apply them. It’s called modelling and I’ve been looking at language learning and modelling language learning for about fifteen to twenty years now.
And my conclusion, my observation from this is that any adult can learn a second language to fluency inside six months. Now when I say this, most people think I’m crazy, this is not possible. So let me remind everybody of the history of human progress, it’s all about expanding our limits.
In 1950 everybody believed that running one mile in four minutes was impossible and then Roger Bannister did it in 1956 and from there it’s got shorter and shorter. 100 years ago everybody believed that heavy stuff doesn’t fly. Except it does and we all know this. How does heavy stuff fly? We reorganise the materials using principles that we have learned from observing nature, birds in this case. And today we’ve gone ever further, so you can fly a car. You can buy one of these for a couple hundred thousand US dollars. We now have cars in the world that can fly. And there’s a different way to fly that we’ve learned from squirrels. So all you need to do is copy what a flying squirrel does, build a suit called a wing suit and off you go, you can fly like a squirrel.
No, most people, a lot of people, I wouldn’t say everybody but a lot of people think they can’t draw. However there are some key principles, five principles that you can apply to learning to draw and you can 2 actually learn to draw in five days. So, if you draw like this, you learn these principles for five days and apply them and after five days you can draw something like this. Now I know this is true because that was my first drawing and after five days of applying these principles that was what I was able to do. And I looked at this and I went ‘wow,’ so that’s how I look like when I’m concentrating so intensely that my brain is exploding. So, anybody can learn to draw in five days and in the same way, with the same logic, anybody can learn a second language in six months.
On January 13, Jin Weijie, a teacher from Longhua Chinese-English Experimental School in Baoan rushed to save four primary school students and sacrifice herself.
On March 31, a traffic accident happened in Jiangsu Province, once again, a primary school teacher, Yin Xuemei, saved six primary school students’ lives, while losing her own. This touched my heart deeply. Who is the greatest? The teacher! If it was me, if I happened to be there, I would do the same thing, because I am a teacher, too.
Working as a teacher, maybe there is nothing special in their life. But we have a belief deep within, that is --we must protect our students, keep our children safe, we won’t let any of them get hurt. Just as what the commissioner of education in Jiangsu Province said: “The accident happened so quickly, it happened in a flick of an eye, there is no time to think about it or hesitate, saving the others is an instinctive action. She did it only because she was of great stature. She forgot about herself in the heat of the moment. ”
There is no doubt, teachers are worth all respect! Teachers are selfless! They impart knowledge to the students, they offer ways and skills of learning to their students, and they offer their lives with no hesitancy when necessary! So I am proud of being a teacher. I like students, teaching will be my life-time career.
Choosing the right career is very important, most of us spend a great part of our lives doing jobs. Some of us have become very successful. Mainly because they have chosen appropriate careers which match their talents and stimulate their interests . I prefer teaching English. English is my favorite. In my opinion, teaching English is more wonderful than any other subject.
There are thousands of different languages in the world. Which language is the most important? As we know, English is an international language, and it could be used all over the world. English is becoming more and more important and popular in China. We adults learn English, school students learn English, even the babies in the kindergarten learn English. It’s a necessary language if you want to go abroad, It’s an essential quality for the researchers to get the latest information in the world quickly. In an age of fast communication, if we want to learn about the outside world, English is definitely the language we should know.
Let’s take a look at a practical viewpoint, if you’re looking for a job that can provide you a good position and a high salary, understanding English often makes it much easier. It can’t be denied that English is very important if you want to make a good living. English is a very important language no matter what you do or where you go, Millions of people would like to master English, but it’s not a piece of cake.
So being an English teacher is good. I am fortunate that I can express my opinions in English. So I am lucky I can teach English.
Furthermore, Being an English teacher, I am very content. I am so grateful to have a life that is filled with teenagers’ trust and love. When my students answer my questions correctly, when they discuss passionately, when they communicate with foreigners fluently, when I see the slowest in thought make progress, I know I have done a great job. Nothing can replace my pleasure.
So being an English teacher, I have got fantastic pleasure. It is English that makes my life wonderful. It is English that makes me feel confident. It is English that makes me different
If there is another chance for me to choose my occupation, I won’t choose anything except being an English teacher.
I enjoy my job, and I love my life.
Dear teachers and students
hello everyone!
The content of my speech is: how to learn more effectively.
Students, it's normal that we have a heavy burden of schoolwork every day. How to allocate learning time is particularly important.
In my opinion, Chinese is the most difficult subject to learn. It is divided into three parts: foundation, reading and composition, with a wide range of knowledge. In the basic questions, the pronunciation, grades, texts and Related words that need to be recited are the easiest to answer correctly. Such questions mainly focus on the mastery of basic knowledge. If you want to do extra-curricular problems and learn to solve problems that are slightly more difficult, such as judging sick sentences and semantic coherence. In reading questions, small reading is relatively simple, as long as you extract information from the text. In addition, we should accumulate more understanding ability after class. The composition should accumulate more good words and sentences and write faster.
Math problems are the most flexible. In the usual practice, don't memorize by rote, but learn how to solve problems. Be careful when doing questions. You must memorize all kinds of formulas. These formulas play a vital role in the exam. Usually, if you can't ask questions, you can't stay until the last time. You should dare to ask questions and pretend to understand.
English pays attention to mastering words and grammar, and exercise books are also very important. We should finish our homework carefully, memorize words and phrases, and strengthen the review of notes. Reading comprehension and filling in the blanks for the first time are extracurricular questions. We should apply what we have learned, read articles and pay attention to the form of words.
In normal study, we should pay more attention to the subjects we are not good at, but we can't ignore other courses, otherwise we will make progress.
The subjects you are good at should also be strengthened and striven for by going up a flight of stairs. Think actively and absorb more in class. When you study, you will get twice the result with half the effort. Everyone's situation is different, and the learning methods vary from person to person. But as long as you work hard, how can you get nothing?
I wish you all progress!
Thank you!
When clock is belling,my heart ripple along with it,to distant withyou, transmit my missing,to be joyful! My dear friend!
Please open the window, let the new year's wind blow your room and the snowflying in,my warming wish flutter to your heart!

Our character, basically, is a composite of our habits. “Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny,” the maxim goes.
Habits are powerful factors in our lives. Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character and produce our effectiveness or ineffectiveness.
As Horace Mann, the great educator, once said, “Habits are like a cable. We weave a strand of it everyday and soon it cannot be broken.” I personally do not agree with the last part of his expression. I know habits can be learned and unlearned. But I also know it isn't a quick fix. It involves a process and a tremendous commitment.
Those of us who watched the lunar voyage of Apollo 11 were transfixed as we saw the first men walk on the moon and return to earth. But to get there, those astronauts literally had to break out of the tremendous gravity pull of the earth. More energy was spent in the first few minutes of lift-off, in the first few miles of travel, than was used over the next several days to travel half a million miles.
Habits, too, have tremendous gravity pull- more than most people realize or would admit. Breaking deeply imbedded habitual tendencies such as procrastination, impatience, criticalness, or selfishness that violate basic principles of human effectiveness involves more than a little willpower and a few minor changes in our lives. “Lift off” takes a tremendous effort, but once we break out of the gravity pull, our freedom takes on a whole new dimension.
Like any natural force, gravity pull can work with us or against us. The gravity pull of some of our habits may currently be keeping us from going where we want to go. But it is also gravity pull that keeps our world together, that keeps the planets in their orbits and our universe in order. It is a powerful force, and if we use it effectively, we can use the gravity pull of habit to create the cohesiveness and order necessary to establish effectiveness in our lives.
Ladies and gentlemen, your honored judges
When you're leaving the hotel will you look into a mirror and adjust yourclothes in front of it. But if it were a black mirror what could we get? Withtechnology developing at a rocket speed, the black mirror is everywhere, on thescreens of our cellphones, our computers and our televisions. In our daily life,we are always facing black mirrors. However, we can hardly see ourselves in it.Perhaps sometimes we can, but only as a colourless face. Technology has broughtgreat convenience of communication for information but at the same time, it haswebbed our thought.
Several years ago, an article named “Is Google making us stupid” got quitepopular on the Internet. At that time, I thought it was just alarmism but now Ifind it much worse because technology is not just making us stupid but alsoweakening our independent thought. About half year ago, I was invited to judge adebate competition. When I arrived at the competition room, I noticed it was anold and classic topic, so I was expecting those players to give me some new andspecial ideas. Unfortunately, when the game continued, I found all theviewpoints and examples they used were totally the same as the previouscompetition. The only fun during the competition was to predict what they wouldsay. As far as I was concerned, they were not making a debate but replaying avideo. Obviously, they just spoke for the black mirror.
Debate was born as an area that we use our own thought to defend ouropinion. However due to high technology, all these "My opinion is" in thecompetition are actually "The opinion I have found is". That is , really, atragedy because all human dignity lies in thought which has been weakened byconvenient technology.
Truth to be told, debate is not the only example. In every field, we canget whatever information or opinions we want from the almighty black mirror. Asa consequence, how to restructure human thought has become not only importantbut also necessary in today's technologically advanced world. And the answer ishumanism which stands for human independent special mind. Just as humanism freedpeople's thought from the force of religion in the Renaissance, I'm waiting inthe hope that it can rescue the ideology trapped in high technology. Humanism isa Lodestar guiding us to the era that anyone can form their own opinion aboutanything but not just speak the words from the Internet.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm not an anti-technologist but I do care aboutthose disadvantages that technology brings to our present life. With the laundrymachine, we don't know how to hand wash clothes clean. With electronic addressbooks, we can even hardly remember our girlfriends or boyfriends' phone numbers. And now with a convenient way to get opinion, we seldom think with our own mind.If so, human is only a reed, the feeblest thing in nature. So follow the spiritof humanism, have an independent mind, so that we can be colorful in those blackmirrors.
I have a question for you. ‘Do you know how to breathe?’ Okay, I know what you are thinking now, “Girl, are you kidding me? Everybody knows how to breathe.” Actually, if I were you sitting down in there one year ago, I would think, “How did she make it to the final?”
Alright, seriously speaking, what I am talking about is “the art of breathing”, and it’s about breathing in a Yoga way: peacefully and always under control. What it reveals is the real essence of perseverance, “In order to achieve, sometimes, you need to wait.” And when it comes to things you really want in life, it is as hard as it could possibly be.
For me, singing is a life thing. When I am singing on the stage, I feel whole-heartedly involved, and the self-fulfillment it renders is inexplicably thrilling. But with all the realistic problems I need to face in life, all those I want seem too far to be true– so far that I am terrified that I will never ever be able to get there and that gradually I will be carried away by the currents and torrents of life. I’ve been drowned into this ambivalence for so long. Now, with a refined perspective towards self-realization, I am waiting, in a graceful posture, and knowing that I am going to get there. And on this, I should say, I owe Yoga a thank-you.
I still remember, about one year ago, I attended a Yoga course for the very first time. And to tell you the truth, I went there for a nice figure. However, after practicing for some time, I discovered that there was an ineffable inner-strength burgeoning sneakily in me while I totally focused. In order not to let go this significant power, I started to picture all I wanted in my mind while I was fully concentrating, for I believe the wings of imagination could make things possible. I learned to breathe with my dreams, shaping the eagerness into this elegant gesture of persisting.
And now, if you ask me what exactly is “the art of breathing”, I would say it is indeed “the art of living”. It combines the search of balance, the grace of patience, and the awareness of appreciation.
So even though feelings are tied up with life routines, I could still hold onto that free EGO which I have always adored: the girl who is singing under the spotlight, with all her heart and soul; the girl who is persevering with all she believes in and always feels grateful for what has been bestowed on her.
That girl is now standing right here in front of you, hoping that you are all as lucky as she is, living with dreams and love. No matter how tough things get, I tell myself, I tell myself that, every single thing I am doing now is every step closer to that very moment of my trajectory, just like every Yoga breath to every blossom moment of my life.

Dear teachers and students
hello everyone.
Today, the topic of my speech is "cherish time and love learning".
We often say that tomorrow will be better. Yes, tomorrow is beautiful, but a beautiful tomorrow will not fall from the sky. It depends on your wisdom, diligence and hard work today. Only today's efforts can get the beauty of tomorrow.
The ancients once wrote a "song of tomorrow": "tomorrow is tomorrow again, how many tomorrow is. I was born to wait for tomorrow, and everything is wasted." Tomorrow is limited for everyone. We should cherish time and love learning.
Students, learning is for future dedication, learning is for their own survival. To learn homework well, we must also learn to study, cultivate good learning habits and master scientific learning methods.
Therefore, learning first depends on "diligence". The great man said: "genius comes from diligence, intelligence comes from effort! The so-called" diligence "is to cherish time. Second, relying on "thinking", we can't learn from those who encourage others, let alone those who swallow them. "Thinking" means that learning should focus on science.
Students, please cherish time, cherish tomorrow and study hard. If we earnestly attend every class, do every homework, read every book and do everything well, we can get excellent results in the exam, we will not live up to the cultivation and expectations of our parents and teachers, and our life will be better tomorrow!
My speech is over!
Thank you!
My mother is a kind and gentle woman. She is always very gentle. She takesgood care of her children and keeps them all at school. I have two brothers andtwo sisters. So she gets five children in all. She gives us every comfort weneed.
We all love her very much. My mother has too much to do in bring us up. Asour family is not rich enough, my mother always hits to do a lot of work. Shegets up very early and sleeps very late every day. She works very hard, yetwithout complaining. My mother is also a thrifty and industrious woman.
She saves every penny that she can to keep everything in order. As she hasbeen busy ever since she was young, she looks older than she really is. Her faceis wrinkled, her hair becomes silver white, some of her teeth become movable. But she works as hard as ever.
My mother often says to us," work while you work, play while you play. Ifyou did not work, you will become lazy and of no use to the society." What agood piece of advice it is! We must worth it well and always keep it in ourminds.
Good morning everyone!
Since then, I become a junior high school has a semester. Look back this semester, heart is produced many feeling. This semester experience of each day, already in my heart left permanent marks, because these marks witness I such a new growth. Now I find myself seem to understand a lot of things, but closely studied and not exactly. Perhaps after also will laugh at the small, but now we have to smile back what we pass through the road. The exam, I summarized the following the intravenous drip:
In the study, I know the importance of studying. I think facing knowledge is power, leaving the knowledge will be a useless wreck. High school are learning modern scientific knowledge of the golden age, I should take this opportunity, using knowledge to arm themselves mind, knowledge is priceless.
To arrange time properly adjust schedules, allocation of good study, work, entertainment time. Time is the prerequisite and foundation study, efficiency and method is more important. Next, want to quality and quantity of completed teacher the assignment, seriously exam, pre-exam study hard.
Active reading, expand own aspect of knowledge seize bit time to study. Often raised questions, discussing with classmates, ask the teacher for advice, Well, teacher-student relationship between teachers and students get along closer together, In the mid-term exam, although feel good, but still not ideal place, still need to continue to work hard, losing their own learning. Knowledge has no limits, explore endless, the person's development also no limits, I still have a lot of knowledge to learn.
I want to make sure that future development goal, I also want to have confidence in the future. Of course, this requires painstaking training of teachers and schoolmates sincere help
I have to try.
My Pledge
My Oath I can’t stand my poor English! I can’t stand my ten years of wasted time! I can’t stand being looked down upon! I can’t stand being laughed at! I want to improve my situation! I want to change my life! I want to be successful! I want to be international! I don’t want to let my parents down! I don’t ever want to let my country down! Most important, I don’t want to let myself down! I want to speak perfect English! I want to understand all kinds of accents! I want to write beautiful articles! I want to read thousands of books! I want to translate freely between Chinese and English. I want to be the master of the world’s two most important languages: Chinese and English. I must act at once! I must open my mouth to practice! I must surprise them with my excellent English! I must realize my dream! I must succeed!
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:
Today I would like to begin with a story. There was once a physical therapist who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a census about mountain gorillas. These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled their babies.
Yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Diana Fossey, who spent most of her lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.
To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.
Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur - natural scenes aren't natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges are devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks.
All these appalling facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 20xx the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.
Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations are receiving donations - big notes, small notes or even coins - from housewives, plumbers, ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids. Some of them cannot afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care. Because they still want their Mother Nature back. Because they know it still belongs to them.
This kind of feeling that I have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it , it's all coming from a scene to be remembered, a scene to recall and to cherish.
The other night, as I saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs. I found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to something else, someplace else, a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seemed to have been except the deer.
And all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it's time for us to do something, for our own and our coming generation.
Once again, I have come to think of Mrs. Diana Fossey because it is with her spirit, passion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world.
And no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our minds, there's always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.
Thank you very much.
When I was seven, I started learning English. I played games and sang English songs with other children. Sometimes, I watched English cartoons. It's funny. Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world.
I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America to visit Washington, because my cousin is over there. Of course, I want to go to London too, because England is where English language developed. If I can ride my bike in Cambridge University, I will be very happy.
I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. Also I'll introduce China to them, such as the Great Wall, and the gardens in Suzhou. I will teaching people of the world about the beautiful language of our country.
I like the English language. To learn English is wonderful. I once wanted to be an English teacher . I also like Chinese literature. When I was really young, I was able to remember lots of poems. I also wanted to be a teacher of Chinese. Now I think that both of my dreams can come true: I will be able to use English to teach foreign friends Chinese and share Chinese culture with them. So that more and more people will be able to get to know the 5000 years' history culture, and the prosperity of our great China.
My future is not a dream. I am confident that it will come true.
It is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. Gamblers at Monte Carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it instead, but there are other ways of pursuing money which often succeed. So it is with happiness. If you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hang-over. Epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. His method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous. For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness.
There are a great many people who have all the material conditions of happiness, i.e. health and a sufficient income, and who, nevertheless, are profoundly unhappy. In such cases it would seem as if the fault must lie with a wrong theory as to how to live. In one sense, we may say that any theory as to how to live is wrong. We imagine ourselves more different from the animals than we are. Animals live on impulse, and are happy as long as external conditions are favorable. If you have a cat it will enjoy life if it has food and warmth and opportunities for an occasional night on the tiles. Your needs are more complex than those of your cat, but they still have their basis in instinct. In civilized societies, especially in English-speaking societies, this is too apt to be forgotten. People propose to themselves some one paramount objective, and restrain all impulses that do not minister to it. A businessman may be so anxious to grow rich that to this end he sacrifices health and private affections. When at last he has become rich, no pleasure remains to him except harrying other people by exhortations to imitate his noble example. Many rich ladies, although nature has not endowed them with any spontaneous pleasure in literature or art, decide to be thought cultured, and spend boring hours learning the right thing to say about fashionable new books that are written to give delight, not to afford opportunities for dusty snobbism.
If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common. The most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. Women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. Artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. But there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. Many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty.
The whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly. It had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. Perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recovery, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. But when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory. It is the simple things that really matter. If a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. If, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his childrens noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen----a different diet, or more exercise, or what not.
Man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. This is a humble conclusion, but I cannot make myself disbelieve it. Unhappy businessmen, I am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.
Necessity of lifelong learning
Dear Mr. Li, dear my schoolmates, good morning!
Entrusted by the first group of schoolmates, the topic of my speech is Necessity for lifelong learning.
About lifelong learning, there is the famous proverb in Chinese: never too old to learn. Confucius, the famous educator in ancient China, also said: if I learn the Classical literature "Yi" from the age of 50, I would never make so many mistakes.
To sum up, Necessity of lifelong learning is mainly based on the following reasons:
First of all, the knowledge of modern society changes so quickly, if not to learn new knowledge in time you will soon fall behind the times. For example, using the mobile Internet technology, we can using a mobile phone to book a taxi, pay various fees, buy all kinds of goods etc. if a person may not grasp the knowledge, especially senior people ,they will not use the convenience brought by Internet.
Secondly, diligent in thinking can effectively prevent the occurrence of Alzheimer's disease. This conclusion has been verified in medicine.
Finally, a person who maintains the habit of lifelong
learning, can have a stronger advantage in occupation choice. This is not only good for the person, but also for the country and the society.
Some people complain that, they have too much work and have no time to read a book usually. But In fact lifelong learning is not only reading or having a class, we can browse the web, read e-books, receiving distance courses through the Internet conveniently. We can learn not only knowledge, but also skills.
Age cannot be a barrier to our lifelong learning. Chu
Shijian, once the king of China's tobacco industry, had
suffered a great setback before retirement. He was even put into prison. But at the age of 75, he began to study orange planting technology seriously, and finally have a huge success in this area ten years late. Harland Sandoz of America began learning the fast-food lethal at his age of 83. When he was 88 years old, his fast food chain often Kentucky had distributed each corner of the world.
Therefore, lifelong learning is never too late to start, let's start our plan today.
Thank you.
Dear teachers and students
How do you do! The theme of my speech today is "learning for yourself".
We often hear the saying, "it's never too old to learn." Learning is a lifelong thing, especially for our students, our task is to learn.
Perhaps some students are silently thinking about learning. Alas, what I fear most all day is learning. Learning is very boring and boring. It is a painful thing, let alone happy. But if we study hard and carefully, learning is also happy for us. We should not regard learning as an errand and should not perfunctory it. Only those who want to learn will learn real knowledge and truly realize its happiness.
Students, think about who you study for. Not for teachers, not for family, but for yourself. Think about what we can achieve if we don't study hard.
Let's study hard from now on and build a better future. Study hard and seize the day! Students, let's cheer together!
Thank you. My speech is over.
