.Learn How to Say No
we've all been taught that we should help people. it is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. it may even win us favors in return. however, we must be realistic. we can't say yes to every request. if we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. sometimes we simply don't have the time to help. in this case, we must know how to say no politely.
when we need to say no, here is one method we can try. first, we should tell the truth. if we really can't do something, we should just say so. second, we should remember to refuse requests politely. we must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic. a true friend will understand. finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no. sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do. it can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. in short, we cannot please everyone all the time. refusing favors is a part of life.
We Are The World ,We Are The Future
Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. here's one of the culprits. this is the letter sheen, and it makes the sound we think of as sh -- “sh.“ it's also the very first letter of the word shalan, which means “something“ just like the the english word “something“ -- some undefined, unknown thing.
now in arabic, we can make this definite by adding the definite article “al.“ so this is al-shalan -- the unknown thing. and this is a word that appears throughout early mathematics, such as this 10th century derivation of proofs.
the problem for the medieval spanish scholars who were tasked with translating this material is that the letter sheen and the word shalan can't be rendered into spanish because spanish doesn't have that sh, that “sh“ sound. so by convention, they created a rule in which they borrowed the ck sound, “ck“ sound, from the classical greek in the form of the letter kai.
later when this material was translated into a common european language, which is to say latin, they simply replaced the greek kai with the latin x. and once that happened, once this material was in latin, it formed the basis for mathematics textbooks for almost 600 years.

Now the dream came true. i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games. it’s the olympic games that make us together. we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports. we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.

2、每天坚持听磁带是锻炼听力的最有效的方法。一般的英语试卷，听力占20%，是很大的分数，所以想考高分的话，听力必须保证满分。听磁带时要仔细听，一个一个单词的听，能清楚的听到每一个单词组成的句子，如果有含糊不清的，不要只想着跳过，应该重复地听，直到听清为止。我们可以在老师上新课前提前预习，预习新课文并且听课文磁带，这样老师讲新课时，你就可以清楚的知道，每一个单词每个句子在哪里，在讲什么，听课效率肯定会提高很多，尤其对一些在英语方面不是很优秀同学来说，这是很有帮助。
其次就是听课了，上课时，一定要全身心的投入到课堂中， 老师讲的每个语法都要理解并且运用得当，练习是对一天学习的'巩固，必须要认认真真写，不会写的不要抄，实在想不出来，就去问问同学，同学也不会，就去询问老师，千万不要只抄一个答案，这是没有任何意义。下次碰到一样题型的题还是一样不会做，所以一定要认真听讲，理解每一个语法，不仅要知道答案，要“知其然！知其所以然”。

and a good sleeping habit is good for us , too .before we go to bed,we should drink some milk, it can help us sleep well.but i know some people always cant sleep well.i think they shouldnt, take a sleeping pill . after evening meal , they should go for walk or have conversations with their family or listen some light music . maybe these activities can make them than sleep well.

now, i tell you this story about summer camp. i could have told you 50 others just like it -- all the times that i got the message that somehow my quiet and introverted style of being was not necessarily the right way to go, that i should be trying to pass as more of an extrovert. and i always sensed deep down that this was wrong and that introverts were pretty excellent just as they were. but for years i denied this intuition, and so i became a wall street lawyer, of all things, instead of the writer that i had always longed to be -- partly because i needed to prove to myself that i could be bold and assertive too. and i was always going off to crowded bars when i really would have preferred to just have a nice dinner with friends. and i made these self-negating choices so reflexively, that i wasn't even aware that i was making them.
now this is what many introverts do, and it's our loss for sure, but it is also our colleagues' loss and our communities' loss. and at the risk of sounding grandiose, it is the world's loss. because when it comes to creativity and to leadership, we need introverts doing what they do best. a third to a half of the population are introverts -- a third to a half. so that's one out of every two or three people you know. so even if you're an extrovert yourself, i'm talking about your coworkers and your spouses and your children and the person sitting next to you right now -- all of them subject to this bias that is pretty deep and real in our society. we all internalize it from a very early age without even having a language for what we're doing.
now to see the bias clearly you need to understand what introversion is. it's different from being shy. shyness is about fear of social judgment. introversion is more about, how do you respond to stimulation, including social stimulation. so extroverts really crave large amounts of stimulation, whereas introverts feel at their most alive and their most switched-on and their most capable when they're in quieter, more low-key environments. not all the time -- these things aren't absolute -- but a lot of the time. so the key then to maximizing our talents is for us all to put ourselves in the zone of stimulation that is right for us.
Since we go to school, we are taught that no pain, no gain, it means thatif people want to be successful, they must work hard. But the truth is that noteveryone can get what they want, even they work hard so much, but if workinghard does not bring success, why should they still need to work hard. In myopinion, working hard doesn’t mean the person can success certainly, successneeds more factors, like the time, the luck and other things. There is no doubtthat if the person does not work hard and fight for his goal, there is no wayfor him to get what he wants. Some actors start their career at the very youngage, when they are also 40, they become famous suddenly, if they give up, theycan’t be waiting for their reputation. So working hard, there is much chance toget succeed.

i come from one of the most lovely and attractive areas of china, the pearl river delta of guangdong province and i'd love to say a few words about this area that is so dear to my heart.
guangdong province is a magically beautiful wonderland, with endless natural treasures. the lush and green mountains are inhabited by songbirds and exotic animals; the farm land is fertile and productive, providing all of its people with wonderfully nutritious grains and all the fruits they need to be healthy and strong. the pearl river meanders through the province and eventually comes to our beautiful seashore with crystal clear blue water, flourishing with all kinds of different fish and sea creatures. all these natural advantages help to boost the ever-expanding economy of guangdong and increase the welfare of its people.
guangdong is privileged to have such a beautiful landscape, with hundreds of historical sites and places of great interest to local people and foreigners alike. our capital city, guangzhou, is also known as "the city of flowers". everywhere you look you will see flourishing plants and blossoming flowers overflowing with vigor.
the people of guagdong are very friendly to visitors from anywhere. whoever you are and wherever you come from, guangdong people will greet you with the only language---guangdong dialect.

it is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggestconcern of the present-day world. land resources are dwindling because of waterloss and soil erosion. waste gases poison the air we breathe. the rivers andlakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. it is probably noe~aggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environmentthreatens the eistence of mankind itself.
some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the pricewe have to pay for economic development. but i do not think that this argumentis valid. after all, what is the point of economic growth if people’s lives areadversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?
there is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can beachieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. thekey to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the governments and ordinary citizens should join hands to make this world abetter place to live in, not only for ourselves, but also for futuregenerations.

can money buy happiness? different people have different opinions. somethink yes, while others hold the opposite.
it is true that with enough money one can buy all the things one wants, andlive a life of comfort and security. however, it is equally true that lack ofmoney causes great distress. it is a common view that "money is the root of allevil." the pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal. in someplaces there is nothing that cannot be bought with money, resulting in corruptsocieties where everybody is miserable.
so, money does not necessarily mean happiness. it all depends on how it isused. if we make honest and sensible use of money, it can be a stepping-stone tohappiness l although money cannot buy happiness, it can make happiness possibleif it is employed sensibly.
