Needless to say， one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20__ Olympic Games. Till now， we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. Other than those， there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example， more and more people will get to know China. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment， for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more， Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances， could you even imagine us losing the holding rights？

One in four computers in the world comes from China; but from each computer produced, China earns only what 10 apples are worth. I read this in People’ Daily not long ago. While the force of globalization has spread Chinese-made products all over the world and earned China the name “world’s factory”, China earns very little profits from this kind of low-cost production. It’s even been said that China has to export 800 million shirts to get an airplane.
The problem is, China has involved in countless processes of production, but doesn’t necessarily have the intellectual property rights. If all we can be is part of the low-cost, labor-oriented production process, we’ll remain in a passive, disadvantaged position and gradually lose our competitive edge in the global arena. To develop China’s creative industry, transforming products from "made in China" to "created in China" has become one of China’s major tasks.
This transformation will be no less like a marathon, requiring much effort especially that from Chinese enterprises, the major force in Chinese economy. Though there’ s no one in front leading us which direction to run, there’s much to learn from some Chinese enterprises that have already found the right strategies and are shining on the global stage. These strategies involve brand identity establishment, technological innovation and modern management system.
Firstly, the brand that I mentioned above is an intangible yet most valuable asset to a company. It gains credibility from consumers, thus constituting the reason for consumers to buy habitually. Tong Ren Tang, the largest producer of traditional Chinese medicine, remains one of the oldest surviving brand names. The credibility that it gained through quality products has made its name known worldwide and maintains its recognized brand.
The second strategy is innovation of technology, which helps enterprises gain its core competency. In the global era where technology emerges at a rapid speed, one has to adopt the latest technology, and also to compete for the speed of developing new ones. The success of Haier, the third largest household appliances manufacturer in the world, lies in its constant innovation. Over the past 16 years, Haier has invested a total of 7 billion RMB in technological development, using 6 percent of its income for scientific research and the development of new products. At present, Haier's development operational speed is turning out 1.3 new products a day, maintaining its upper-hand in the fierce competition.
The third strategy is the establishment of modern management system. New Hope Group, the National Leading Enterprise for Agriculture, started from family-owned business. When the business was soaring and situation was changing, the family members had divergent views of management. To make sure of the development of their business, they decided to turn their company into a limited liability one, distributing property rights efficiently. Because of this, the company increased its competitiveness rapidly. Establishing a modern management system will lead to efficient levels of division of labor and efficient patterns in the business cycle.
With brand identity, technology and flexibility, China’s creative industries will blossom and give China the cutting edge in the fierce global competition. a few years ago, i felt like i was stuck in a rut, so i decided to follow in the footsteps of the great american philosopher, morgan spurlock, and try something new for 30 days. the idea is actually pretty simple. think about something you’ve always wanted to add to your life and try it for the next 30 days. it turns out, 30 days is just about the right amount of time to add a new habit or subtract a habit — like watching the news — from your life.

i also figured out that if you really want something badly enough, you can do anything for 30 days. have you ever wanted to write a novel? every november, tens of thousands of people try to write their own 50,000 word novel from scratch in 30 days. it turns out, all you have to do is write 1,667 words a day for a month. so i did. by the way, the secret is not to go to sleep until you’ve written your words for the day. you might be sleep-deprived, but you’ll finish your novel. now is my book the next great american novel? no. i wrote it in a month. it’s awful. but for the rest of my life, if i meet john hodgman at a ted party, i don’t have to say, “i’m a computer scientist.” no, no, if i want to i can say, “i’m a novelist.”

How to celebrate it?Let me introduce you the customs and traditional activites in the following time.The night of December twenty-forth is called Christmas Eve.On Christmas,people don't go to work and children don't go to school.Before the day comes,people must prepare for Christmas trees,Christmas lights,Christmas cards.On Christmas eve, we know an traditional activity called carolling.They sing many Christmas carols .Before go to sleep,the children hang a stocking at the end of their beds for Santa's presents.And they often wake up early in the Christmas day to check the presents.Then the family will have a big Christmas dinner.
In the Western, each family need to prepare a Christmas tree to enhance the festive atmosphere. Christmas tree is generally made with evergreen such as cypress It is a symbol of life forever. Christmas tree often decorated with a variety of candles, flowers, toys, stars and all kinds of Christmas gifts. On Christmas Eve, people around the Christmas tree are singing and dancing.

Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. I don‟t know who wrote these words, but I‟ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful
question. To answer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, it‟s a state of mind. It‟s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It‟s the matter of the will. It‟s the freshness of the deep spring of life.
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over
timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

The pig & Watermelon
In spring, the mother pig took the little pig LuLu to the foot of the mountain. They planted some watermelon.
When summer came, there were many big round watermelons in the field.
One day, the sun was burning like a fire, it was terribly hot on the ground. The mother pig said to the little pig:"Lulu, go to the field to pick a watermelon back,ok?" Lulu said happily:"Ok! No problem."
Then he ran to the watermelon field. When he got to the field, he was happy to find so many big green watermelons. He chose one of the biggest watermelon and picked it from the vine. Then he held it with his hands trying to lift is on his shoulder to carry it home.
"Wow!It's so heavy!" Lulu tried several times, but he failed. And he was socked with sweat. He wiped his sweat off and decided to have a rest.
Suddenly he saw the monkey Pipi. He was playing with a hoop. Lulu patted his head and said:"I've got it." He thought,the round hoop can roll, the watermelon round too,then it can roll too.He then put the big melon on the ground and rolled it forward quickly.

According to many experts, even greater impacts are still on the way.There are numerous causes for this problem. On one hand, human-related emissions of carbon into the atmosphere is causing, and will in the future cause, significant global warming according to the theory. On the other hand, the lack of knowledge about the importance of protecting environment hinders the solving of the problem.It is urgent that immediate and effective actions should be taken right away. First, more trees need to be planted to help improve and beautify the environment. Besides, stricter laws concerning global warming and irresponsible use of fuel resources have to be put into effect and achieved good results. The world we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because of environmental destruction. For example forest destruction results in decrease of planting land and unpleasant weather. In addition man is faced with problems of water pollution and air pollution.
A lot of measures have been taken. Planting trees helps improve and beautify the environment. Besides laws concerning environmental protection have been put into effect and achieved good results.
However the problem of environmental protection remains far from being solved. On the one hand the environment pollution and destruction are getting worse and worse in the modern world. On the other hand the lack of knowledge about the importance of protecting environment hinders the solving of the problem. The implied meaning of the pie charts is both disappointing and exciting.On the one hand, much necessary work still needs to be done with respect toenvironmental protection. The public ignorance of relevant environmentalprotection results from inadequate and limited popularity of environmentalprotection knowledge by relevant government departments at different levels.Since environmental protection is an international issue, we must constantlyintroduce the advanced and practical practice in other countries to our generalpublic. Only in this way can we promote environmental protection in China. Onthe other hand, the enhancement of the public awareness of environmentalprotection is a welcome development. Over the past years, as people’s livingstandard improves, people attach more importance to the quality of their life.They have a better understanding of the relationship between environment andtheir daily life. As a result, they are more interested in following positiveinternational models. In sum, we have got a mixed feeling toward the very factrevealed in the pie charts.
In my view, necessary measures should be immediately taken to ensure a niceenvironment. First of all, government departments at all levels must play a moreactive role in popularizing international experience and practice ofenvironmental protection. What’s more, the general public should be encouragedto participate more actively in environmental protection. Only in this way canwe live in a healthy and harmonious environment. (278 words)
